“A house divided against itself cannot stand” I believe this government cannot endure

permanently half slave and half free.

Today, I started to debate with Douglas. I said it. Doulas said,

「Let each state mind its own business and let its neighbors alone!! If we stand by the principle, then Mr.Lincoln will find that this republic can exist forever divided into free

And slave states.」

His opinion is right, but he dosen’t understand a national opinion. American people will

stand by me.

Next day, Douglas send letter for me.

“Dear Lincoln”

I want to debate with you. If you think same me, will you debate with me?

Please reply by letter immediately.

I wrote to answer for him. We will debate next week.

Today is to debate with him. He insists slavery. But I don’t think it. I should do abolition. Today’s debate is a panel discussion. What did the people think?

I ask him “could people who live in a semi-continent oppose slaverly?”

This question caught in a dilemma to him. I was convinced to success. Because he can’t

answer this question. If he wants to answer, he must change his opinion.

But he found a way out of his troubles. He answered “ If people oppose slavery, laws which keeping slavery don’t have to establish.” He could answer my question, and he didn’t change his opinion.

But he didn’t understand people. He was criticized people who live in the South.

At last, an election of the Upper House started. I believed that I was elected.

But I was not elected, and Douglas was elected.

I did not know why I was not elected. I lose Doulas.

Doulas didn’t understand a national opinion. I made the Emancipation Proclamation.

This contents was the emancipation of slaves. But it was only the South.

Because the people didn’t think an abrupt abolish in slavery, they thought expansion

of slaves should stop. I understood a national opinion.

Three years later, a presidential election started. I was elected!!

I won Doulas.  I published the Emancipation Proclamation.

I and Doulas was friend and a good rival. He enabled me to be a president.

When I was a president, he said “congratulations”. I was very happy.

But I didn’t know then. He thought that he assassinates me.

Five years later, when I saw comedy with my family, I was killed.

A murderer was arrested. But a murderer wasn’t Doulas.
